June'2016

June 2016. Allot has happened. This is exactly a year since i started my first full time job. Bitter sweet journey. I have been through good and bad times, and it has been a huge part of my daily life. I have never thought that my work life would be that imbalance. Curious? My daily routine starts from 7.30 (wash up), 8.30 (off to work) and 7-8 (dismiss from work) and workplace is literally my second home.

I know everyone knows how work life works, we all have the same struggle, same dream, but we dont have the courage to go out of our comfort zone. We are afraid of being left alone, afraid to start all over again, afraid to lose everything we are already familiar with. We always wanted something big, but we dont have the strength to start. Trust me, i face the same damn thing also. We always thought we are young, but with a blink of an eye, we are in early thirties, and there goes your dream. A dream will always be a dream unless you try to do something to make it work.
May all of us got the strength to fight as a tiger, and win like a champion in our life journey.

Will you endure the struggles? What if you have tried everything and you realized it is you who need to change cause it is all in your head, not that you over think, but the time and support your other half can give. Equality. When your other half dont really need/miss you as you do, just stop. If he cares, he will eventually know. Throughout the journey, you felt extreme ways. The reason you smile but also why you was unhappy. What would you feel when he sticks around you when he is beside or being at the same space as you, but nudge u once in a while when he was away. The difference in the way he treat you is just extreme. Sometimes you wonder if it was your problem or this is just not right. And how long would you hold on? And the funniest thing is, you thought you had everything but, you don't. Sarcastic as that.

2015 Oct

So, hello my dear blog, i havent been updating since late 2014, and didnt complete my sydney trip post.  Blame my slow wifi, you cant upload a huge amount of pics with the lowest speed connection.

So here, i am just gonna update some bits of my latest moments.

Early Jan/late Dec has been quite an ups and downs for me. Especially if when you are being told that one of your family member is in critical moments and you have to put away everything and rush back to Malaysia cause you don't even know how serious the matter is. I have to say that i didnt really realise the seriousness of the whole matter, not until i personally come back to Malaysia and saw the whole scene. But you know what, i always have faith on my dad. Although he seemed weak, but i just know that he will make it through, cause he is in good hands. Looking back, i don't really wanna go through that again. NEVER. That kind of torture? No way. Not only physically, mentally exhausted too. You are worried, but you just can't help on anything.  Glad that he is good and healthy once again now :)

So March was my graduation month, i postponed my graduation ceremony because my dad was due operation a week before our family/graduation trip. The weather during March in Adelaide was great, We had roadtrips. Rented cars from Thrifty, took ferry to Kangaroo Isalnd, with everyone except my elder sis and bro in law. We went to zoo, Kangaroo Island, Handorf etc. The graduation ceremony was great but bit emotional cause it marks the end of my university life, I was so miserable about myself that time cause i dont even know which path i should follow. To continue my studies? big four? or banking line? And now when i looked back, i regret for a bit cause i should have stayed in Aussie, doing part time job while trying to look for a proper ones since my student visa is not expiring until Sept this year. *Hmmph :/ no point looking back also huh*

And before i got into my current company, i was actually being invited to Unilever's final round interview. I was being told that i am the last six finalist out of thousands. I was overwhelmed to be honest. Final six? It all sounds like dream came true. The whole process was indeed an eye opening one. The interview was in HQ and we were being put into groups doing individual and group task. I never forgot that day, individual presentations and paperworks. It's the day that i realised i still have allot to learn under comparison and the world is allot wider than i thought. *I was so motivated right after haha*

While June is the month that i got into banking line as a management trainee. I start to make new friends in a new environment. One thing that i never thought of is being able to work in my hometown, well, i should say, i never thought of it, ever. It was never my first choice, and probably my last choice. LOL. Big cities, big companies was always my dream, i longed to work in KL, with that happening life and friends around. But now looking back at what i am today, it was not that bad at all, at least, i get to save money *ahaha* and also, i get to meet a bunch of good friends. Yeah the workload is there, the politics are there too, I even have to admit that sometimes it takes time to overcome the obstacles, but i always see it as a challenge to myself, to furnish my ability. Although until today, i still make allot of stupid mistakes, i never forget to tell myself to be alert and more careful each and everytime. I know i will grow stronger, i just know.

Right at this moment, i am actually planning to go Korea this coming Nov, the only thing due is that i haven't buy flight tix and book my hotel. LOL allot of homework to be done but i am excited at the same time! LAzy bum needs motivation.

And so for the next resolution, i hope i am able to pick up some course like CPA or CFA (another decision to be made *tough one* and also, to be able to complete my piano theory last grade and my piano diploma.

It is getting late, guess it's bed time. Buhbye my Saturday

Till next time <3

One fine Saturday in Adelaide

Finally!! a day without assignments, quiz(still pending LOL), work and class-SATURDAY YO!
Saturday has always been my favourite day since i come to Adelaide. Me and my roomate will always go grocery shopping during this day and sometimes even brunch for a great kickstart. Exploring the city by food hunting is simply an art *hahaha.

And today me and my girls went food hunting, again. This time around is somewhere we found in urbanspoon and has rating as high as 90% and immediately we are like O.O LOL.  It is a place call 'Paddy's Lantern' at Gilbert Street, 5 mins away from chinatown. We took the tram and got off at chinatown and we walked for a while and finally reach with the help of Googlemap :D

Tadaaaa! our brunch place *yay
It was full house, had to wait for bout 15 mins before we finally got a table.
So they only provide a few choices for breakfast/ brunch
The online reviews say that their coffee is a must try! *netizens have ranked this coffee shop as top three coffee shop in Adelaide* WOW So, i ordered my usual, Mocha.

And Michelle ordered Hot choc.
The Mocha tastes more like cofee than mixture of choc and coffee. I prefered more choc taste though.
For food choice, I had a hard time choosing but in the end i have made up my mind for this,
It is today's special- mixed vege tomato soup with sourdough toast. Rating 9/10 . It is really a good try, unlike the usual big breakfast i always have. The sweet and sour minestrone like vege soup goes really well with the toast. $13.
While my roomate ordered another today's special.
Not quite sure about the name but as you can see, they have kales, potatoes and the sauce is sour and spicy.$15
Ends up we had a really satisfying meal, if you want to treat your taste bud with the unusual,
Paddy's Lantern it is. Nice environment, good service, good food and good coffee.
Imma happie gurl. :P

So after brunch we went to shop for abit,
not this piece though! girlsbeinggirls ;D

After the session, we decided to head back to Victoria Square for this,
 Fork on the Road Adelaide

Availabe 12pm-9pm only today.
It is an event where all the food trucks gathered together, and sell varieties of delicacies and desserts from all around the world. I am glad that we made it here. They have churros, burgers, fish and chips, burritos, desserts, charkueyteow, pork ribs, bao etc etc. It is basically like an upgrade version of 'pasarmalam' back in Malaysia. LOL
Well, though i know i promised myself that i wont have dessert anymore for the next three months but how can you resist an event like this? dietfail.
SO,we walked around like a happy kid and tried a few of them
Honey coated dough with nuts, $5 for 6 balls, taste like 'Yaocharguai' back in Malaysia, except that it is the sweeter version

Chocolate Waffle stick! $6. Not a great deal though as it tastes exactly like the normal ones, but still, thumbs up for the creativity cause as we walked around, people kept asking where we got it from. :D

Korean Fried riceballs, 3 for $5. Basically it is fried rice ball coated with flour and deep fried. Not a wow.

It is really a nice Saturday, you can see everyone chilling here with their families, kids playing around, food scent everywhere. Everything is just PURFECT.

Owh and the last one we had was the south american style fried sweet potatoes which is $8 for 8 sticks. The sauce is the one that makes it good. We definitely had a great time there, happy tummy and happy us. Wheeeeeee~~
So that's my kind of Saturday in Adelaide, hows yours?

*All photos are taken with iphone 5s without editing. and also, promised my old friend to give him a shoutout, so, ah Pang if you are reading this, here it is. Be strong and be positive kay! The sun is always there! Gayao!

Sydney YOLO trip (backpack style) Part 3/5

Third day of our trip.
Good morning Sydney! Took bus 373 as usual to Sydney city. The bus tix is $3.70 per trip, we wanted to get the Mybus ticket which allows 10 trips covering region 3-5 (around $29) *betteroption* , but it was sold out everywhere :/.
Haymarket Sydney- Sydney Paddy's Market (Chinatown), a place that sells souvenirs.

So we got into the city, and the schedule today is Sydney Fish Market!
We walked there using our GPS navigating the dierection and you know what? this is why people always say sometimes we can't really fully rely on technology- cause in the end we took an hour ++ to reach the destination *phewhh*. The funny part is later on we actually found out that there is a nearer route, which you only need to pass by Darling Harbour, walk straight down the road and Sydney Fish Market is just right infront. Apparently we took the long way, got lost *not the first time lol* among the street. BUT whocares! we still managed to get to our destination *like Finally*

Feel the sunshine, seagulls everywhere, such a windy day.
The crowd is everywhere eventhough it is just a normal weekday! By the moment you step into the building, you can see a variety of seafood and shops/restaurant.

So we walked around before we decide what to eat. Most of the shop have similar price, but it may differ according to the species. Seriously, this place is like a seafood paradise *NOM*
We started off with the seafood platter (portion for 2) for around $38. It comes with calamari ring, fish and chips, prawns, scallops, squid and oyster. The portion is just nice for 4 of us as a starter. The taste is okay, fish and chips is just normal, but the squid and everything is NICE and FRESH.
Btw, you are free to sit anywhere you like, just that there are too many people and too little space for certain shops, so you will have to share table with strangers, and it is best to clean your own table after you feast as the workers there are too busy to clean it right away. You don't wanna leave the mess to the next person right? *saw allot of people just leave the mess like that and walk away like a boss* whatkindcultureisthat
After the seafood platter, we see Oyster, different species of oyster.

So our tactic is to try different dish at different shop, depending on their specialty/ the price. So we came across this shop that sells a whole loads of freshly shucked oyster. We chose two species of oyster out of few and so it is $16 for 12 oyster. Lemon comes along with the oyster and seriously, the freshness and juicyness omg i am so hungry now as i am writing this.
After the satisfaction of having oyster, we proceed to the main deal- salmon sashimi!
This is the another shop we tried for sashimi. There was crowd so we decided to give it a try.
You can actually order based on how much you want to pay, then they will weigh accordingly. For our case, we ordered salmon sashimi for a $12 dollar portion, and it comes in 20 piece.

The complexion, the texture, the after taste, words can't describe how heavenly this taste like! Definitely whoever who are planning to visit fish market MUST TRY THIS!
We are all happie girl! Satisfied and full, we almost forgot how hard, how long we took to get there cause we think it was a long walk but worthwhile.
A perfect weather to grab an ice-cream  at Peters ( Raspberry flavour) YUMS!

So after the ice-cream, we walked into the building for one last round as they are closing too (around 4pm).

We saw this pan fried fish on sale for $7 at a japanese shop and decided to grab it since we haven't have chance to eat fish with bones ever since we come to Aussie Fish with bones here is not cheap and we don't know how to cook it. We enjoyed the sun and breeze while eating the fish outdoor, turns out that the seagulls are pretty interested in our food also. p/s: If you are eating on the table outside, please beware of the seagull as they are not afraid of humans and are more than happy to have your food (not unless you shout and chase them away). LOL

So yeah, we found a shortcut to go back to the city *dummies lol. Darling Harbour is such a nice place, everything is in the picture!

Sudden cravings for dessert and so we decided to give Lindt Chocolate Cafe a try!
I think most of you know that Lindt is actually a very famous chocolate brand.

Their specialty, Lindt waffle served with vanilla icecream and chocolate.

We ordered the milkshakes too. The milkshakes is not too sweet which is a good thing as you don't want to drown yourself with too much sugar. The bill was around $20++ notcheap

We went for a walk along the street at Darling Harbour, the scenery is breathtaking.

Not forget to mention there is a playground just located right beside Darling Harbour, and it is seriously the Most entertaining and adventurous playground i have ever seen! They have equipments like something similar like flying fox, or tall slide, climbing equiment etc. Let me show you some of the photos taken by my friend's camera.

The tall slildes
Too bad, there are no photos of the flying fox, but if you happened to pass by Darling Harbour, make sure you pay it a visit and reminisce your childhood memory again! LOL
Us

So we walked back to Chinatown to look for dinner,

street performer

We found this ramen shop around the corner, it is 'On Ramen' , promoting themselves as the best ramen in town!

ordered the original ramen, and it tastes nice. around $13.50. I would give it a 8/10.

So, here comes the end of part 3, day 3 of our Sydney trip. This is really a long post which i never thought it will be this long. I really miss the sashimi !

Heh, part 4 is gonna be another exciting page, be sure to stay tuned! Thanks for reading and Have a great day ahead everyone! :)

*all photos of the trip are taken with iphone5s  (am amazed when some of the photos turned out really well)

Feel the young hearts again! - The Vamps & 5 Seconds of Summer

So the other day when i was browsing youtube video, i came across to this boy punk rock band- The Vamps' commercial.

They recently launched their new album 'Meet The Vamps'. They are a British pop rock band with 4 members in the group. You may wiki for more details about them

So then a day later, The Vamps' youtube playlist linked me to another boy band.
5 second of Summer,
An australia pop punk band, with 4 members in the group too. They have a hit song recently which i can always hear it from the radio- 'She looks so perfect'. but i especially LOVE this song.
They are so cute lah *screams*
I know i am abit slow, probably really outdated cause i didn't know them until recently. *ERHM*. So yeah, their song genre for me i think is quite similar, is like those song that you will always hear it from chic-flic movie ( like high school romance/ cinderella story ) LOL. *Highfive for chic-flic movie lovers* Those music that most teenagers will fancy. They are pretty much like a younger version of One Diretion. Out of all genre, these kind of song is probably on the top of my list.
Don't you feel your young heart come alive again after you listen to these songs? :P

So, this is just an update of my favourite songs, i hope you will like the songs as i do! Definitely my latest Gym Playlist. Today is just a rainy rainy day! and tomorrow will be a busy busy day, will update soon about my Friday- me and my friends will be doing a job which we all think that we are out of our mind. LOL

p/s: Sydney YOLO trip part 3 is on its way, probably this weekend. Happie day ahead everyone! ;)
